Roundtable on "Central Asian studies: theoretical and political perspectives

On February 28, 2017 in the hall of the Academic Council of Almaty Management University there was held a round table organized by the Higher School of Public Policy and Law within the framework of a dialogue platform "Good Governance" on "Central Asian studies: theoretical and political perspectives". This format of roundtables consistently provides a platform for a dialogue between representatives of government, business and education, as well as public figures. Students, staff and faculty of the University were invited to attend this event.

The following topics will be considered in the framework of the event:

1)    “Driving in Almaty. Preliminary Reflections on Political Theory in Central Asia”, Mr. Alessandro Frigerio, Associate Professor and Chair of Department of Humanities at KBTU

2)    “The Role of Party Systems in Central Asia in New Political Realities”, Mrs. Aigul Adibayeva, Assistant Professor and Associate Dean at KIMEP University

3)    “New Dimensions of Economic Development in Central Asian Countries”, Mr. Danial Saari, m.e.s., Senior Lecturer at Almaty Management University

4)    “Popular Geopolitics: the Representation of Central Asia in International Movies and the Response of the Kazakh Government”, Mr. Alberto Frigerio, Professor at Almaty Management University

After all speeches were presented there was an open discussion with the possibility to ask questions. The closing of the event was followed by photo-shoot.

It should be noted that Alberto Frigerio has played simultaneously in three roles: organizer, speaker and moderator of the round table
