Visa support

For incoming foreign students:

 

Foreign students who come to study to Almaty Management University for undergraduate, graduate and doctoral programmes need to enter the country on the basis of student visa.

 

Student visa for foreign citizens shall be issued in the following cases:

  • for those students who are willing to study at secondary and/or  higher educational institutions of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • for those students who are willing to undergo practical training and/or internships in the Republic of Kazakhstan;
  • for those students who originally enjoy Kazakh ethnic background  (to be confirmed by birth certificate where ethnicity is stipulated), arrive in the Republic of Kazakhstan for temporary purpose to study at local academic institutions of the country;
  • Student visas are issued with single, double, triple and multiple entry and exit options.
  • The validity of a study visa (L1 format):

            - Single, double, triple - up to 90 days

            - Multiple - up to 1 year.

 

 

Almaty Management University supports international students with application proceedings to get a study visa through provision of invitation letters and registration number from the Department of Consular Service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Almaty. In turn, to obtain a registration number of the Department of Consular Service of the MFA full-time foreign students are obliged to provide the following documents:

•    Student’s passport copy;
•    Copy of the Kazakhstan visa (if the applying student has already visited Kazakhstan before);
•    Signed contract between the student and Almaty Management University;
•    Health certificate - 086 form;
•    Apostil of high school diploma or a college diploma;
•    Bank statement on the availability of funds in the account (minimum $ 3,000);
•    Medical insurance;
•    Certificate on criminal records (to be issued at a local police office).
By 2015, Kazakhstan has expanded the list of countries whose citizens have the right to enter the territory of the country without visas. Upon his arrival in Kazakhstan, the foreign student shall obtain a temporary residence registration in the Department of Migration Police during his studies at AlmaU within:
a) up to 5 days for students who receive a migration card with one stamp when passing the passport control;
b) up to 90 days for those students with a migration card stamped twice when passing the passport control.
For temporary residence registration students shall provide:
•    The original and a copy of the passport;
•    Migration card;
•    A letter of support (provided by AlmaU);
•    X-rays results including ;
•    HIV/AIDS test results;
•    3*4 sized two photos;
•    Students coming from abroad pay the state duty in the amount of 2 MCI (monthly calculation index, 1 MCI is equal to 1982 KZT for 2015.);
•    Student who is ethnic Kazakh, additionally provides his/her birth certificate.
