238 new Masters of Business Administration received their diplomas!
A solemn ceremony of awarding diplomas to MBA graduates of the Graduate School of Business and School of Public Policy of Almaty Management University (formerly IAB) took place in at Dom Priemov (Almaty).
This year 238 students have received the Alma University MBA diploma. For the first time in the history Graduate School of Business and School of Public Policy receives the diplomas together. And for the first Management in the public sector" and "Management in Education" programmes students were awarded MBA diploma.
This year, the University has also a second constellation of students of "Health Care Management" programme, which is the unique one in Kazakhstan. This programme is implemented by Alma University since 2012 under the government project, supported by the National Centre for Health Development, and the akimat and regional health department of Mangistau region.
Joint MBA graduation of two schools is one of the intermediate results for dynamic but not easy path of Alma University for the establishment of Schools, to the entrepreneurial university, to join the top 200 business universities of the world. The University is the third year in a row awarded with 4 palmes by Eduniversal ranking, entering the “top 200 world universities” and remaining the title of №1 business school in Kazakhstan
In her welcoming speech, Vice-Rector for Science and Strategic Development of AlmaU Daniya Asanova said: "It will 20 years since we launched the MBA programme in Kazakhstan! The result of our programmes for 19 years is almost 4000 graduates! We are pleased to say that this is a huge community of elite specialists added a new constellation of managers and businessmen of the leading companies in the country, having a good experience and now armed with modern knowledge! "
The successes of Almaty Management University in the preparation of competent professionals who have achieved great success in business and management was noted by the distinguished guests attending the ceremony. Among them: member of the Board of Trustees AlmaU - Raimbek Batalov, acting director of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of Almaty - Kairat Kudaibergen, Counsellor of Akim of Mangystau region Yerbol Ismailov, Chairman of the DBA Alumni Association, member of the audit committee at the Eurasian Bank Valery Dorje.
Raimbek Batalov, congratulating the graduates on behalf of the Board of Trustees AlmaU, noted the high value of the AlmaU image and accordingly the value of university alumni in the labor market. Thanking teachers of Alma University for work and knowledge, which they shared with their students, Mr. Batalov appealed to the graduates: "You are already a mature person who have achieved success in life. I sincerely hope that the knowledge that you have gained here will help for some of you to make an additional career leap and to improve business performance for others. And, of course, most importantly, you made a new friends here, have expanded number of important networks that may improve the quality of your life, both professional and personal. "
Among those who received the diploma were - managers of "Samruk Kazyna", "Kazakhmys" Entrepreneurship Development Fund "Damu", "Kazkommertsbank», KCELL, Kazatomprom, "Intergas Central Asia" "KazakhOil Aktobe", "Zhaikmunai" "AktauNefteServis" Kazmortransflot, Kazakhtelecom and Mangistaumunaigas and many others.
During the ceremony, Director of the MBA, Head of "Business Administration" Department Professor Cameron congratulated the newly minted MBA degree holders and Dean of GSB Gulnara Kurenkeyeva made a traditional solemn ceremony of "throwing brushes," which symbolizes the qualitative transformation of the students to the Masters.
Graduates greeted their teachers and a MBA Department team with warmth and great respect. During the years of study they have become family and friends. The best teachers were awarded with diplomas and memorable gifts.
The ceremony at Dom Priemov has ended with the traditional launch of balloons with the flag of the University, and throwing graduation caps in the air!
